The Toughest Lift


This is honest truth right here! The reason I became a personal trainer was for the newbies. For those people who thought the gym was only for the fit and young. I am your gym buddy! I will show you around and put your mind at ease. I want the newbies to start feeling comfortable in the gym and to see it as a place where they belong,  just as much as the gym rats. My first piece of advice is to start creating habits. If it is a day you are to be in the gym and have absolutely no desire to go. I say just put your gear on and wait. See how you feel. If that is as far as you get that day, it is ok! Next time get your gear on and try to get into the gym or out for a walk. Start creating new behaviours and before you know it you are working out regularly and enjoying it!!



I couldn't have said it better. I love the simplicity of this quote! It is SO true. When life is busy and we are stressed it can be a struggle to get in a workout but,  I know I always feel better when I am done. I feel better about everything, about myself , about whatever is stressing me out or what is bothering me. I have a rule..I hate rules but this one is important. I never make a decision, have a conversation or deal with a stressful situation until I have either gone for a run, a walk or a workout. I almost always feel better about the situation at hand and am able to clear my head and deal with this problem with less emotion and a sound mind.
